Sic Mundus is a secret society of time travelers that is already established in Winden in 1921. The name is a reference to a quote from the Emerald Tablet, "Sic mundus creatus est – Thus the world was created." Sic Mundus' headquarters are located in lavish underground rooms accessible via an elevator in the church.

Season 2 : episode 4
A yellowed photograph from H.G. Tannhaus' belongings shows the members of Sic Mundus in 1921. Adam, the leader of the society is in the middle of the photo. He is an ingenious strategist and ruthless manipulator – and grown-up Jonas Kahnwald.
Noah is also in the photo. He is one of Adam's closest confidants and has been a member of Sic Mundus since his youth. He has committed horrible acts in the name of the society, including abducting children and using them for deadly experiments with a prototype time machine.
Noah's sister Agnes Nielsen is standing between Adam and Noah in the photo. The former member had a falling out with Sic Mundus at some point, but she tries to be readmitted by divulging information about Claudia Tiedemann and the missing pages of the leather notebook in 1954.

Sic Mundus' goals
Unlike Claudia Tiedemann or the Stranger, Adam and the rest of Sic Mundus do not want to change the course of history. His goal is to create a new world, liberated from the constraints of merciless time and inevitable death.
The members of Sic Mundus must ensure everything happens as it should; no one is allowed to change the course of time. Everything has to be in its place for the grand finale: the end of the world as we know it.
Season 2 : episode 5
The improved time machine
At the Sic Mundus headquarters, there is a laboratory with a pulsating black mass that can be stabilized using electricity from powerful Tesla coils. Adam describes it as the end of a technical evolution that began with the chair in the bunker. It is a time machine that can break the 33-year cycle, meaning time travelers can go to any day they desire. Jonas Kahnwald uses it to travel to June 20th, 2019, the day before his father's suicide.
