Daniel Kahnwald is Ines Kahnwald's father. In the 1950s, he is working as the chief of police in Winden. He has a confident way about him and takes the lead when the bodies of two boys are found on the site of the nuclear power plant. Why are their eyes burnt? What's the significance of the penny necklace? And why are they wearing clothes made in China? Daniel is at a loss for answers, as is his colleague Egon Tiedemann.
