Tronte Nielsen (1953)

A shy boy with freckles. His hairstyle makes him look a little like James Dean. Tronte’s mother, Agnes, is raising him alone. His father is dead — and his mother seems happy enough about this fact.

When Tronte and his mother sublet a room from Egon and Doris Tiedemann, he gets to know Claudia. She likes his hair; she likes everything about the boy. Together, they explore the forests and the cave.

Encountering Ulrich

As Agnes and Tronte are on their way to the Tiedemanns’ house, they encounter a strangely attired man close to the Winden Cave. It is Ulrich Nielsen. Agnes’s grandson. Tronte will become his father. Of course, they cannot imagine this.
