Adam

Frequent time travel has left its mark on Adam: His face is disfigured from repeated exposure to radiation, but his soul is also scarred. Adam seems to be void of any sympathy whatsoever.

What he does have, however, is a razor-sharp mind. As the leader of Sic Mundus, he is fighting to control time. To him, it's like a game of chess. His main opponent is Claudia Tiedemann and the people around him are like his pawns. He manipulates them ruthlessly, friend and foe alike.

Season 2 : episode 8

Adam's agenda

Adam doesn't want to change the course of time for the better; he wants nothing less than to liberate man from the merciless constraints of time.

For that to happen, everything must unfold as planned. Every character must fulfil their destiny. Mikkel Nielsen has to go missing. Michael Kahnwald has to commit suicide. The apocalypse has to destroy Winden. Adam doesn't even hesitate when it comes to the love of his life Martha. Adam ensures that Martha dies in Jonas’ arms, creating a pain deep enough to turn him into Adam.

Winden and most of its inhabitants are taken out by the apocalypse. The black matter that results is key to Adam's future plans: He wants to use it to end the world as we know it.
